Fortnite Adjusts Display of "Confrontational" Emotes (85 อ่าน)

27 เม.ย 2567 22:16

Fortnite is implementing modifications to how "confrontational" emotes are showcased to other players. While Fortnite presently lacks a feature for direct communication between enemies, emotes have frequently been utilized as a means of taunting adversaries after eliminating them. Certain emotes like "Take the L" or "Laugh It Up" have garnered a reputation for toxicity among certain segments of the player base, detracting from the overall gaming experience for some individuals.

Emotes constitute a significant cosmetic element within Fortnite, offering a diverse range of lively animations to enhance a player's avatar. Alongside emotes, other cosmetic items include weapon skins, character outfits, backpacks, pickaxes, and more. Additionally, there have been murmurs regarding the introduction of a new cosmetic type to complement the existing lineup. Epic Games consistently mulls over various alterations and enhancements for Fortnite, with emotes currently under scrutiny for adjustments.

Epic Games has announced forthcoming alterations to how players perceive "confrontational" emotes. In an update slated for April 23, several emotes will no longer be visible when employed by enemy players. Instead, these "confrontational" emotes will appear as the character standing still, devoid of any accompanying emote sound. Players will have the option to customize this feature, accessible through the "social privacy" settings in the main menu. By default, players will only witness the affected emotes from individuals within their party, with alternative settings allowing for visibility from all players or none at all. Although the Fortnite item shop regularly reintroduces numerous emotes, only a select few will be impacted by the impending update.

A total of four emotes will be concealed from players in the forthcoming update, all deemed confrontational. However, these adjustments do not impede players' ability to utilize these emotes individually. Emotes such as "Laugh It Up" and "Take The L" have been identified as potentially toxic when directed at an enemy player, prompting some individuals to opt out of encountering such emotes altogether. Notably, rare emotes like "It's Complicated" and "Kiss the Cup" remain unaffected. This update, labeled v29.30, is scheduled for release on April 23, coinciding with the arrival of Billie Eilish to Fortnite Festival.
